The Content List for Dystopia Rising: Northern California is meant to give players a sense of what themes will be covered during a typical event. A player will always have the option to “tap out” of scenes where they do not feel comfortable (more on the OK Check-In system here).
Below, you will find lists of content our events will never contain, general content you may find at any event, and specific content you may find during a given season.
Content Limits (there will be none of this):
ANY content, themes, discussion, jokes, or conversation that relates to rape, sexual abuse, or sexual assault This includes *especially* involvement of characters who are under 18. This also includes any implied coerced sex work.
REAL LIFE RELIGION and insults pertaining to real life religious beliefs
Actual violence
ANY content, themes, discussion, jokes, or conversation that relates to racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, disability, ageism, dysmorphia, body shaming - for that matter, ANY language that puts people down based on being born to one circumstance versus another
During our post-apocalyptic horror game, you may experience any of the following:

Lightest touch combat
Simulated melee fighting
Being shot with Nerf Guns or hit with small packets
Potential for physically demanding experiences
Acts of simulated violence
Jump scares
Running - potentially in the dark
Night time attacks (even on sleeping characters)
Potential long hikes

Prop focused materials system
Zombies, raiders, and abominations of the apocalypse
Emotional Content
Shared personal growth
Gender identity exploration
Simulated religious conflict and themes
Simulated death and/or suicide
